Festival de Cannes

Desde 1946, todos los años en mayo, Cannes se anima con el famoso «Festival de Cannes». El Festival de Cannes es uno de los mayores acontecimientos mediáticos del mundo, donde se reúnen los profesionales del cine. Aunque las proyecciones oficiales son sólo con invitación, hay varias actividades abiertas al público para empaparse de este maravilloso momento.

Prepare un picnic y siéntese a ver películas clásicas en un cine gigante al aire libre en la playa de Mace. El Beach Cinema está abierto al público todas las noches a partir de las 21:00 durante el festival.

Juegue a ser paparazzi por un día y acérquese al Palais des Festivals para ver a las estrellas desfilar por la famosa alfombra roja. Quién sabe, ¡puede que se cruce con alguna de sus celebridades favoritas!

DE LA LAVANDA

El comienzo del verano es el momento ideal para descubrir la Provenza y todos sus secretos. Este es el itinerario que recomendamos.

Aproveche el frescor de la mañana para ir a la meseta de Valensole y descubrir los campos de lavanda en flor. Déjese atrapar por los dulces aromas de estos ríos de color púrpura hasta donde alcanza la vista, ofreciendo un espléndido panorama.

A poca distancia se encuentra el magnífico pueblo de Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, el lugar ideal para comer. Con sus estrechas calles empedradas, sus picos rocosos y sus magníficas vistas, el pueblo es uno de los más bellos de Francia y le dejará recuerdos inolvidables.

Antes de regresar, diríjase al Lago de Sainte-Croix, el lugar idílico perfecto para relajarse. Tome el sol mientras se baña en las aguas turquesas mientras admira el paisaje de las Gargantas del Verdon.

THE LERINS ISLANDS

Facing the Old Port are the Lerins Islands, a must-see for visiting Cannes and its surroundings. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat are two jewels not to be missed!

Sainte-Marguerite Island

Sainte-Marguerite Island is the largest of the Lerins Islands. It offers an idyllic setting, between creeks and pine forests. The island has more than 22 km of trails, all offering unique landscapes. It also has a rich historical heritage, including archaeological remains and its Royal fort.

 

Saint-Honorat Island

Separated from Sainte-Marguerite Island by only 600 meters of sea, Saint-Honorat Island also has a rich past. Its monks’ abbey and the remains of the fortified monastery make the island a destination not to be missed. The island is 1500 meters long and is ideal to discover on foot. Indeed, it is wooded and offers magnificent views.

As every year, Cannes’ downtown districts live to the rhythm of the Christmas season. Discover a complete program of festivities that invites you to celebrate the end of the year in a joyful atmosphere.

Find the Christmas Market until January 2nd, the ice rink, the shows and animations, as well as the Christmas fairy parade on Friday December 24th from 3pm which will go through the heart of the city!

Museum of the Iron Mask and the Royal Fort

On the first island of Lérins, the island of Sainte-Marguerite, the museum of the Iron Mask and the Royal Fort is located on the oldest part of the Vauban-type Royal Fort.

You can visit the old state prisons and the famous cell of the Iron Mask where the mysterious prisoner was incarcerated for eleven years.

On the upper floor you can see the underwater archaeological material from the Roman wrecks and the fragments of wall paintings found during the land excavations on the island of Sainte-Marguerite.

This museum is therefore a must-see place that will immerse you between mystery and history! 

The Museum of Explorations du Monde

The museum of Explorations du Monde, formerly museum of the Castre, located on the heights of the historical district of Cannes, offers you a travel in the heart of the Primitive Art, the Orientalism and the Antiquities.

The museum presents collections of Mediterranean archaeology and Primitive Arts. In particular, an exceptional collection of world musical instruments to admire in the Sainte-Anne Chapel.

The Park of La Croix des Gardes
