If you are looking for the right mix of Tuscany and Provence, the Bellini Chapel is for you.
The chapel, of Baroque inspiration, was built in 1894 by Count Vitali, whose name is engraved on the bell. It is part of the Villa Fiorentina, a famous ‘Italian-style’ villa, where inside you can admire the clock tower and the gallery with a wooden staircase, strictly in the Baroque style.
In 1953, it became the property of the painter and architect Emanuele Bellini (1904-1989), who was able to create a particularly extraordinary atmosphere inside thanks to his colourful style inspired by Impressionism and Fauvism. It is a true artist’s studio, full of colour, fun and imagination. The chapel is now a museum dedicated to the artist, and his daughter will be happy to show it to you together with the painter’s life, which are one and the same, every afternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., or by appointment. Bellini painted and marked forever a certain reassuring and joyful image of the city of cinema.
